Vision
A Telangana where every medium and small newspaper and periodical journalist works with dignity, professional recognition and freedom.
Mission
To unite working journalists, uphold standards of integrity, protect their rights, and build welfare support through collective action and representation.
Vision and mission statements are draft wording pending approval by the association.
Registered objectives
- (a)
Professional standing. To raise the status of members of the profession of journalists.
- (b)
Cooperation. To promote a spirit of co-operation and understanding among working journalists.
- (c)
Integrity. To promote and maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and integrity.
- (d)
Social & cultural life. To promote amenities for recreation and scope for social and cultural activities.
- (e)
Welfare funds. To build up and administer funds for legal aid, unemployment, disablement, retirement and death benefits of an allied nature.
- (f)
Press freedom. To strive for the freedom of the media and protect the rights of medium, small daily & periodicals journalists.
- (g)
Legislation. To work for and promote legislation for the welfare of working journalists.
- (h)
Training. To secure facilities for training of journalists country-wide and periodic exchanges abroad.
- (i)
Official journals. To publish official journals of the association.
- (j)
Representation. To secure representation of working journalists on delegations, commissions and committees of State and Central Governments.
Additionally: advancement of any other objects of general public utility which may qualify for exemption under the Income Tax Act.
